Message from President and CEO, Rev. Dr. Dustin Petz
RE: Foundation Response to COVID-19
Dear Friends,
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ our Risen Lord. In the midst of these changing times, I want to share what the Kansas Area United Methodist Foundation will be doing in response to COVID-19.
Foundation Operations:
Although the outcome of the next few weeks is uncertain, the Foundation has taken steps to ensure that we do our part in preventing the spread of the COVID-19. This includes keeping our staff healthy and ultimately continue serving the churches and individuals well who have entrusted us to care for their resources.
We are providing remote options for the staff to continue serving you during the regular office hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will be regularly checking email and voicemail. If you call the office and no one answers, please leave a message.
Our plan is to continue supporting ministry for the scheduled and requested distributions. Distribution requests can be submitted via email to jtrapp@kaumf.org or mailed to the Foundation office. Requests need to be received by Monday at 5:00 p.m. to ensure a distribution will be sent that week.
Investment Update:
Last week we made the decision to postpone the Investing for the Future seminars with a representative from Wespath to a later date (possibly summer or fall). We will share information about that opportunity when it is available. However, there are many questions and concerns about markets and investments. Wespath will be hosting an Investment Update Thursday, March 19 at 1:30 p.m. (CDT). Click here to register for free.
Workshop Update:
Despite COVID-19, our Foundation will still be offering our Leaving a Lasting Legacy Workshop. We will be providing the workshop via an online venue on:
Wednesday, April 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a 30-minute break for lunch
Tuesday, April 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a 30-minute break for lunch
To ensure that participants have the materials for the presentation in time, please register at least one week in advance. These workshops will help equip lay and clergy leaders to begin and/or grow your planned giving ministry that will help leave a lasting legacy, making a difference for generations to come. Please click here to register for this free and helpful training.
Thank you for our partnership. We are honored to serve you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at dpetz@kaumf.org or 620-664-9623.
Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Dustin Petz
