Seminars Postponed, Colby Workshop Canceled

March 12, 2020

With the growing number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Kansas, the decision was made to postpone the Investing for the Future Seminars originally scheduled for March 16-18, as well as to cancel the Leaving a Lasting Legacy Workshop in Colby on March 24.

“For the health and safety of the attendees we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Wespath tour and cancel the Colby workshop,” Rev. Dr. Dustin Petz said. “We believe that it is important for the churches to have an opportunity to learn more from a Wespath representative about the markets and their investment options. We will work to reschedule the seminar series.”

Wespath’s Chief Investment Officer, Dave Zellner, provided his prospective following the markets’ sharp decline as fears around COVID-19 continue.  Dave’s full comments can be read here.

The postponed seminars were to be held March 16 to 18 in Wichita, Hays, and Kansas City. The canceled workshop was to be held in Colby on March 24.

At this time, the Leaving a Lasting Legacy Workshops in Wichita and Olathe will still be held as scheduled on April 1st and 14th, respectively. The Foundation will continue to monitor the situation across the state and send updates on the events as necessary.

New seminar dates will be sent at a later time.
