KMF Seminary Scholarship
The Seminary Scholarship Fund of the Kansas Methodist Foundation provides scholarships for ministerial students who are attending a theological school and working toward ordination in the Great Plains Conference of the United Methodist Church. This Fund originated with the Kansas West Conference, seeking to create a large endowment to support seminary students. The original goal was to provide scholarships so that students can come serve within the conference with no seminary debt.
The Pass the Torch Scholarship Fund is a ministry of retired clergy, spouses, and surviving spouses of the Great Plains Conference committed to significantly increasing the amount of funds to educate quality seminary students to lead our church. The Great Plains Association of Retired Clergy and Spouses (GPARCS) make a difference in the lives of so many future seminary students through this fund. The Kansas Methodist Foundation is proud to be a partner with the Pass the Torch Scholarship Committee by supporting those called by God into ministry so that they may pursue their seminary education.
Since the founding of the scholarship in 1991, more than $104,000 has been awarded in scholarships to support women and men called by God who will be pursuing their seminary education. The retired ministers, their families, and many other persons have given gifts "In Memory" or "In Honor" of a Christian brother or sister so that their legacy continues through this scholarship.
